It IS Spring! Dream and Plan for a Few Days Away and Short Forays…the weather be damned!

It is time to put that novel down, crawl out of that cozy blanket and begin to think ahead to warmer spring days and fun summer nights!

This week-end – Here’s something local and free for those in the Queen Anne, Ballard and Magnolia area…for all artists everywhere, really! Magnolian, Brom Wikstrom, internationally renowned local mouth painter, now showing at the Narthex Gallery at 3555 W McGraw, will be giving a lecture and demonstration there, this Saturday, April 1, 2 – 4pm. All are welcome. Free!

The Seattle Symphony is offering a great deal for their new 2017-2018 season. Create your own series! Choose any 10 or more concerts by April 10th and save. Piano and violin concertos, classic works as well as Pop events and contemporary music. There is lots to choose from this season running September 2017 through July1, 2018. Conductor Ludovic Morlot directs Berlioz, Mozart, Strauss and other masterworks, Chris Botti will join the symphony for a couple concerts, other must-see programs include: Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, The Seattle Pops, The Messiah, and A Festival of Lessons & Carols. John Williams will conduct his own works, there will be an evening of Simon & Garfunkel’s music and so much more. Begin your exploration for tickets here.

The Seattle Men’s Chorus has a couple of concerts coming up…I love their work and have written about it before in this space.This Saturday, with the Seattle Women’s chorus they have their annual Children’s show!

While you wait out the weather (and, its schizophrenic short bursts of sun with mostly gray and drizzle) explore on-line the Scenic Byways & Road Trips of Washington State. This is a fun way to spend an afternoon or two and think ahead. Online publication.

Seattle Refined is a great resource and a great little show! The show is on channel 4, KOMO, at 3pm, weekdays; and, the website offers lots of travel ideas and fun things to do and know!
